Busy boxes (similar to busy bags) are boxes full of homemade educational play activities that will keep your toddler and preschooler engaged for hours! They are full of activities that can be pulled out when you need to occupy your little one. Each activity also helps your toddler or preschooler learn new skills while they play
Little Learner Busy Boxes are made by me, Brooke, a home educator and former director of a Pre-K through 6th grade educational co-op. I love being creative and thinking of fun ways for little ones to learn while playing! I also understand the importance of keeping little ones busy! I understand the need to find educational activities to keep little ones engaged. Busy Boxes have been a life saver for so many families!
Each box will come with 3 (mini box) or 5 (big box) learning activity bags. Each bag will have everything you need to use the activity, along with an instruction card that indicates ways that older or younger learners can use that activity. These activities can all be used again and again! Every activity has an educational goal and every month has a unique theme! Some of our past themes are: puppies, the weather, the zoo, ocean friends, dinosaurs, fall, and camping- each month is something different! We always strive to make sure the children have fun while they are learning so that they will beg to play with their busy boxes.
The busy boxes are great for ages 2-4, but even younger and older kids will have fun with the learning activities and games! 2 year olds often need an older sibling or adult to help them learn with the activities. They can still benefit greatly from the activities and gain exposure to the concepts, but just not as independently as 3 and 4 year olds. If your child is showing interest with holding a crayon or marker, imitating reading, being able to sort objects, etc. then they should be ready for these boxes which help build those skills and more!
**Note: Items in the boxes do contain many small items that are choking hazards to children under 3. Please monitor your children and use items at your own risk.
Although the items in the box can be used for free discovery play, each activity also has a learning purpose. I suggest first showing your child some ways to play with the kits then letting them play on their own (under a watchful eye - choking hazards). You can also use the boxes for preparation for kindergarten! Each box has a theme and focus for learning. Spend time each day playing with your child while pointing out the learning topics (letter sounds, colors, numbers, etc)
Easy, Peasy! Just choose from 1 month (renews automatically) or from a prepaid package bundle. You can save by prepaying but just choose the plan that works best for you. Each month we will ship boxes between the 5th-8th of the month. You will be billed for the next month's box on the 15 of the previous month. For example: On Jan. 15th you will be billed for the box that will ship on Feb. 5th. You can cancel anytime.
Your subscription will automatically renew each month, but if you want to pause or cancel at anytime, simply go to www.cratejoy.com and sign into your account (upper right corner). From there you can manage your subscriptions.
